Workshop: Greater Copenhagen Life Science and Cleantech Clusters meets The Four Motors for Europe

Greater Copenhagen - the metropolitan region that spans Eastern Denmark and Skåne in Southern Sweden
- has a thriving landscape of almost 50 clusters in key sectors. In September, a delegation of cleantech and
life sciences clusters from four of Europe’s strongest regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (FR), Baden-
Württemberg (DE), Catalonia (ES) and Lombardy (IT) - are coming to Greater Copenhagen. The four regions
has cooperated since 1988 under the banner of the “Four Motors for Europe”
The ambition of the workshop is to foster collaboration between Greater Copenhagen and The Four Motors
for Europe by strengthening the links between the life science and cleantech clusters.

Ice-breaking activity

The first session helps the participants get to know each other and identify opportunities in the

collaboration between clusters from Greater Copenhagen and the Four Motors for Europe.

Success stories and key failures on the path of a cross-sectorial collaboration between life science and

cleantech – short kick off speeches for more cross-sectorial collaboration

This session will explore ways clusters can create added value for their members by thinking out of the box

and looking beyond their own field. Therefore, examples of cross-sectoral cooperation will be shared with

the participants. Kick off speaker:

· Director Per Spindler, Biopeople, Denmark
