Open webinars on patents and other IP – a collaboration between AWA and Biopeople
Among Biopeoples’ network members are several start-up companies. They all have the challenge that the product they work to develop and finance has to be covered optimally IP wise. If this is not the case, the business idea might fail. Biopeople and the patent agency AWA therefore co-arrange a range of webinars under the title ”Patents and other IP”. The webinars last an hour and are open to everybody interested. The webinars, which take place over the summer 2020, provide the participants an opportunity to learn how they optimally secure their patent rights.
Target the mandatory collection of data
According to Helle Friis Svenstrup, Patent Attorney at AWA, all start-up biotech companies should target their specific product development as early as possible. This will optimise and target the mandatory collection of data related to the breath of the patent protection they wish to achieve and related to the company’s business strategy. ”My advice to start-ups is to meet a patent attorney as early in the process as possible to identify how and when to patent protect the company’s invention or technology,” she says.
The webinars started in June 2020
The range of IP-webinars, which started in June, could be the beginning of the start-ups patent process. We urge everybody interested and with a need to learn how to start the patent process to sign up for the IP webinars and meet the experienced advisors online. Find the webinars announcements on Biopeople’s website at biopeople.eu/calendar, where participants can register for the individual webinar. We send a link to the meeting after registration.
The two first webinars took place in June with about 30 participants each. The upcoming two webinars take place after the summer holidays.
